Clive Edwards resigned as Chairman and 1st Team Manager effective Tuesday 6th March.
Clive told the committee that despite previous discussions he did not feel that people within the Club were sufficiently committed to take the Club forward.
Clive recognized that individuals were putting effort into their teams and other areas of the Club, but even so the combined effort was not sufficient to progress into higher football.
In addition Clive was concerned about a lack of pro-active support from the Westerham Parish Council because the Memorial Pavilion was not fit for usage and we had not received a formal response to our request for ground improvements in line with promotion requirements.
Clive said that he was also concerned with the lack of commitment from half of the 1st team squad and felt it prudent to leave now so that the Club could have more time to prepare for next season.
Clive’s final words were “ I had a great 2005/6 season where everyone seemed to pull in the same direction.
But this season has been a struggle all around and I am sorry to say I have not been enjoying it for some weeks now. Under these circumstances I have to be honest and decide it's time to move on.
I would specifically like to thank Brian Abrahart and Brian Ladd for their support and wish everyone at the Club success in the future “

On 23rd October Chairman and 1st Team Manager Clive Edwards brought about changes in the senior team management positions within Westerham F C.
Coach Brian Meaney left the club, Brian Abrahart moved up as 1st Team Assistant Manager, and Andy Palmer took over as 2nd Team Manager.
Guy Smith and Gary Draper will continue to run the 3rd Team and Paul Luttman plus Brian Ladd will continue in charge of the 4th Team.
"This was a difficult decision but one I thought i had to make. Brian Meaney has done a good coaching job this season, we have all learned a lot from him, and all wish him success in the future. But I felt my role as Chairman was pushing me away from team involvement and I wanted to have more control of the coaching and training sessions, because that is really what I enjoy most in the game.
I'll have plenty of years to get more involved in club administration in the future.
Brian Abrahart's experience will be an asset to the 1st Team and with Andy Palmer having joined the club recently it was the perfect opportunity to give him more responsibility.
The 1st Team and 2nd Team squads have reacted very positively to the changes so hopefully we can step up a gear, get a few positive results and start challenging for that promotion position we all want.
Saturday's results were the perfect start."

After the 1st XI match against Farnborough OBG, Manager Clive Edwards was presented with the Manager of the Month Award for October for the Western Section of the Kent County League. League. Chairman Cyril Windiate congratulated Westerham on an undefeated run of 5 matches during October and presented a cut glass whisky tumbler on an insribed base. The award was won following an assessment of the results and the disciplinary record of the 39 teams in the Western Section
Clive stated "Obviously, I am very pleased with the Manager of the Month Award, on a personal, team and club basis. It’s a first for me and I would particularly like to thank Assistant Manager Robin Jenner for his support. The award shows that the team and the club are heading in the right direction and we have to sustain that form for the rest of the season to achieve what we set out to do.”
Clive Edwards
1st Team Manager
We are at the half-way stage of the
season so I would like to thank all the players, officials and supporters for
their efforts and support so far this season. The players have obviously played
well. I have to say that they have also handled themselves very well on and off
the pitch. There is a great atmosphere in the squad and it gives me quite a buzz
to be part of it.
Whilst I am confident that we are good enough to gain
promotion this year now is the time to start thinking about next season and
beyond. We need to get the infrastructure sorted, improve the relationship with
the Junior Section, and work out how we are going to improve our financial
position so that we can achieve what we will need to do with the ground to
support a higher standard of football. The bottom line is we need more help and
we need more money –
so any volunteers would be welcome.
I would also like to wish all players, officials, supporters, and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The Vets still showed that they have not lost all their teeth and skills beating the 4th XI 4-2.
4th XI took an early lead when Dan Hodder was brought down in the penalty area and Jamie Doe converted from the spot.
Craig Hoadley nearly increased the 4th XI lead when he hit the post from 18 yards.
The Vets started to find their feet and should have equalised when Paul Salako's cross was met by Mark Taylor to tap wide of an empty net.
It was not long before the Vets were level when a cross from the right was tapped in by Paul Salako.
The Vets continued their pressure with good work starting from the back through the midfield to the forwards and it was from one of these attacks that Michael Sterling crossed the ball from the right to be headed home by the diving Dave Salako, 1-2.
At half time the Vets were well in control of the match and could have been several up if it were not for some good saves by Jamie Doe.
4th XI started the second half with a new lease of life and a shot by Dan Hodder hit the post for Craig Hoadley to smash in the rebound, 2-2.
The Vets still looked dangerous and it was Paul Salako latching onto a mistake by Jamie Doe to cross the ball for Michael Sterling to tap into an empty net, 2-3.
There were still chances for the 4th XI to get back into the game but the finishing was just not there and it was Mark Taylor who wrapped up the game with a solo run, slotting the ball past the onrushing Jamie Doe and into the bottom right-hand corner of the goal, 2-4.
Referee, Doug Sayers brought the game to an end with the score remaining 4-2 to the Vets.
A very entertaining game with plenty of laughs as well as some good skills from the Vets who deserved their win.
Special Thanks to the Referee Doug Sayers and Barry Wood for running the line and the WSA for providing the food.
After the match, Michael Dunmore collected £130.00 for his charity, The Megan Radley Trust Fund and Mark Taylor's, Chloe Pyne Trust Fund.
